Chieftain Fabrics, based in Co. Meath, specialise in the design and production of high-quality performance fabric and contract upholstery.
In 2018, they commissioned four Lazy Loungers to showcase their eco-friendly vinyl at Clerkenwell Design Week in London.
The Lazy Lounger design provided an eye-catching and interesting way to display their choice of colours, selected from their Just Colour and Lionella vinyl ranges.

Supporting Irish design to showcase their fabric ranges was an important factor for Chieftain Fabrics and the Lazy Loungers were a main feature of their stand at Project, a show that brings together a leading selection of contract furniture, lighting and surface brands from around the globe.
Chieftain’s ethos of sustainability was a key message of their stand. The Lazy Loungers formed part of the Summer Soirée theme and added to the relaxed setting, along with wellies made from their recycled PVC.

Tradition meets contemporary
The solid oak and walnut frames were handmade by a traditional chair-maker in Co. Monaghan. The cushions were upholstered to precision by John Lynch Upholstery, a long-time upholsterer based in Monaghan.
